Barbara Hammer’s first feature documentary Nitrate Kisses (1992) will be featured in the third installment of Sunday Screenings, an afternoon of queer underground cinema at The Horse Hospital in London, UK on April 26th at 1pm!
Nitrate Kisses interweaves footage of four gay and lesbian couples with unearthed archival imagery in an effort to unearth forbidden and invisible queer histories. A screening of the silent film Lot in Sodom (Dir. Sibley Watson and Melville Webber, 1933)— from which Hammer drew archival footage for the documentary— will proceed the screening, accompanied by a live score.
