Barbara Hammer, Available Space (1979)

We are excited to announce Sideways Glance, curated by Elena Gross, opening at Slash in San Francisco, CA on October 3, 2026! 

Based on Daviel Shy’s essay Women Seeing Women: The Politics of the Sideways Glance (2019), this group exhibition positions the lesbian artist as a point of rupture between subjectivity and objectivity. Available Space (1979) by Barbara Hammer will be shown alongside works by Alexa Burrell, Sienna Freeman, and Daviel Shy.
