Barbara Hammer’s “Welcome to This House” (2015) will be screened at Seoul Art Cinema in Seoul, South Korea this Thursday, August 21st at 7:30 pm!

“Welcome to This House” charts the life of American poet Elizabeth Bishop (1911-1979) through an exploration of her many homes and love affairs. Featuring Bishop’s poems read by Kathleen Chalfont, as well as interviews with friends, colleagues, and scholars, the documentary brings forth the little-known truths of Bishop’s inner life, including her unending search for love and place in the face of loneliness.

After the screening, there will be a book talk on “We’re Sprinting Inland” with novelist and translator Lee Ju-hye and host Kang So-young.
