Barbara Hammer, Sanctus (1990)

Sanctus (1990) by Barbara Hammer will be screened on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 2:30 pm in the 25th Out Night Anniversary Special Program at Ann Arbor Film Festival in Ann Arbor, MI!

Since 2001, the Ann Arbor Film Festival has presented Out Night, a film competition highlighting queer perspectives and experiences. The first iteration of Out Night premiered at the 39th festival in 2001, showing History Lessons (2000) by Barbara Hammer alongside films by Deborah Strutt, Kristin Pepe, and Monica Tullia Nolan.

This year’s special program celebrates 25 years of the competition, bringing together six award-winning AAFF Out Night films to create an expansive portrait of queer voices over the years.

Barbara Forever (2026) will also be screened at AAFF on Thursday, March 26 as a part of the 25 Years of Out Night celebration. We are thrilled to share this occasion with the Barbara Forever team!
