Barbara Hammer, Audience, 1983

A curated selection of Barbara Hammer’s films will be screened alongside films by Sandra Lahire in “My Tongue is Lesbian” at the Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona in Barcelona, ES on November 2, 2025 at 6:30 pm!

The “My Tongue is Lesbian” program places Hammer’s experimental feminist films in dialogue with Lahire’s to explore how the body is used to convey both intimate and universal struggles against heteropatriarchal norms. The screening includes Hammer’s films, Sappho (1978), Sync Touch (1981), Double Strength (1978), and Audience (1983), along with Lahire’s films, Arrows (1984), Night Dances (1995), and Eerie (1992).

This program is in partnership with the “Bodies, Gestures, and Communities: Queer Thought in Experimental Cinema” conference series, curated by Carlos Saldaña and Mireia Montané Guitart.
