Barbara Hammer, Available Space (1979)

Barbara Hammer’s film “Available Space” (1979) will be featured in “Events for a Moving Body,” a program of screenings and readings curated by JOAN Los Angeles, Corina Copp of Rotations LA, and artist Alexis Kyle Mitchell at Now Instant in Los Angeles, CA on January 30th at 7 pm!

“Events for a Moving Body” is a two-night screening and reading program bringing together films that reflect on the body as a vessel for knowledge, relation, and struggle. In Night 1 of the program, Hammer’s work will be featured alongside films by Peter Weiss, Jacqui Duckworth, Sarah Ballard, and Zora Neale Hurston, as well as readings by Danielle Carr and Amelia Bande, among others. Night 2 of the program will follow on January 31st at 7 pm.

“Events for a Moving Body” marks the final days of Alexis Kyle Mitchell’s exhibition, “The Goal of Our Health,” which is on view at JOAN through January 31.
