The Arxipèlag Film Series presents its second edition this year, which will take place during each and every weekend in September, offering a program inspired by one of the most characteristic conditions of the area: isolation.

The notion of isolation has a positive connotation for the organization of Arxipèlag: it claims a cinephile, reflective, social and artistic meeting point, open to the public and with free activities, where there will be film screenings of author, video art proposals, performance and experimental format, which will be distributed in two spaces in the town: the Art and Joy Theater and the Corral de la Gala. Under the motto “Each film an island, each projection a journey”, the event aims to invite both villagers and visitors to the cinematic experience, offering more than fifteen national and international titles, including short and feature films.

The last weekend will be dedicated exclusively to experimental cinema and will take place at Corral de la Gala, an emblematic space that originally belonged to Gala and Salvador Dalí. In its origin, it had already hosted performances, film shoots and various artistic proposals, and now, from Archipelago, it has wanted to reactivate its essence. In this way, on the 27th there will be a session of feminist art short films, with Fina Miralles ( Footprints ), Barbara Hammer ( Women I love ) and Martha Rosler ( Semiotics of the Kitchen ). On the 28th, the cycle will close with a session of experimental short films: Bru ha ha! by Steven WoloshenStrikes in Collioure by Jean-Michel BouhoursNY, NY by Francis Thompson and A study in choreography in camera and At land by Maya Deren. The day will close with a closing party with Thisorder.
