Barbara Hammer’s film, “Sanctus” (1990) will be included in “X-RAY: The Power of Roentgen Vision” at Weltkulturerbe Völklinger Hütte in Saarland, DE opening on November 9, 2025!

“XRAY” is the first ever exhibition dedicated to the phenomenon of X-ray vision and its cultural significance. The exhibition showcases a wide variety of X-ray systems ranging from the technology’s inception to present while also exploring the creative uses of the X-ray in art, advertising, cinema, and fashion. Pairing these two sides of the technology together, “XRAY” highlights the creative interplay of the X-ray gaze in culture, media, medicine, politics, and art.
