Barbara Hammer, a three-time Teddy Award winner, is being honored at this year’s Berlinale International Film Festival with a screening of three of her short films in the Forum and Forum Expanded sections.
Since the 1970s, Barbara’s work has boldly centered feminist and lesbian perspectives, breaking new ground both visually and politically. Through innovative techniques and a fearless aesthetic, she explored themes of embodiment, desire, and queer history – often challenging societal norms. The selection of her films at Berlinale 2025 offers a rare opportunity to rediscover her visionary work and experience its lasting impact.
