We are thrilled to announce two screenings dedicated to the work of Barbara Hammer at Film Forum in New York, in celebration of the theatrical release of Barbara Forever!
Barbara Hammer: Love is Where You Find It and Barbara Hammer: Embodied Histories trace Hammer’s sustained interests in lesbian visibility, queer worldmaking, and uncovering hidden histories through filmmaking. Highlighting two interconnected aspects of Hammer’s filmmaking, these curated screenings speak to the political perspectives, formal experimentations, and personal testimonies at the heart of her oeuvre.
The Barbara Hammer: Embodied Histories screening will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 7:10 pm.
