Pools (1981) by Barbara Hammer and Barbara Klutinis will be featured in the 12th session of The Swimming Pool: Swim or Sink, an open air cinema series screening at Museo Reina Sofia on August 8, 2026 at 10 pm!

The Swimming Pool: Swim or Sink is a summer film series that explores the symbolic presence of the pool within the cinematic imagination. Exploring the existential ambiguity that has characterized the pool throughout the history of cinema, the program highlights the leisure and sensory enjoyment the pool has come to represent, as well as the feelings of melancholy and the awareness of the passage of time that the pool can conjure.
