Fantasizing Design: Phyllis Birkby Builds Lesbian Feminist Architecture is on view though September 2nd at the Center for Architecture.

Barbara Hammer was a fellow activist and close friend of Birkby’s. Taking a central position in Birkby’s circle of friends, lovers, and collaborators, “Fantasizing Design” uses this network as a lens for the broader ways feminists and lesbian feminists have worked to remake architectural practice, domestic space, and the broader built environment.
